I became a grandmother for the first time on Wednesday.
My son had a son... wow!
It feels wonderful AND weird all at the same time.
My son and his sweet wife gave their son a name and I've been wondering for a while what my "grandmother" name might be.  To be honest, I've also been hoping to not be named Grandma or Nana.  I want to have a fun name.  There's so many options depending on if it's traditional, trendy, international, or silly.
Here are just a few I found online:
BaBa...Bubka...Bubbie
Gabby...Grannie...GoGo
Mamaw...MooMoo...MorMor
Nonna...Nana...NotherMother
Oma...Obaba...Ommie
Safta...Shugie...Shazza
YaYa...Yamma...YooHoo
I do like the thought of being named the Yiddish version: "Bubbie".  My luck though, he will pronounce it wrong and I will end up being, "Bubba!"  One of my girlfriend, Ann's, grandsons decided to call her, "My Ann."  Sooo cute!!
Well...I've got quite a few months before my adorable grandson decides what he wants to name me [and my husband].  Of course we can try and give him suggestions, but I am still looking forward to what HE decides my new name will be.
"But now this is what Adonai says,
he who created you, Ya‘akov,
he who formed you, Isra’el:
“Don’t be afraid, for I have redeemed you;
I am calling you by your name; you are mine."
he who created you, Ya‘akov,
he who formed you, Isra’el:
“Don’t be afraid, for I have redeemed you;
I am calling you by your name; you are mine."
