What's in a [grandparent] Name?

imgarcade.com

I became a grandmother for the first time on Wednesday.
My son had a son... wow!
It feels wonderful AND weird all at the same time.

My son and his sweet wife gave their son a name and I've been wondering for a while what my "grandmother" name might be.  To be honest, I've also been hoping to not be named Grandma or Nana.  I want to have a fun name.  There's so many options depending on if it's traditional, trendy, international, or silly.

Here are just a few I found online:
BaBa...Bubka...Bubbie
Gabby...Grannie...GoGo
Mamaw...MooMoo...MorMor
Nonna...Nana...NotherMother
Oma...Obaba...Ommie
Safta...Shugie...Shazza
YaYa...Yamma...YooHoo

I do like the thought of being named the Yiddish version: "Bubbie".  My luck though, he will pronounce it wrong and I will end up being, "Bubba!"  One of my girlfriend, Ann's, grandsons decided to call her, "My Ann."  Sooo cute!!

Well...I've got quite a few months before my adorable grandson decides what he wants to name me [and my husband].  Of course we can try and give him suggestions, but I am still looking forward to what HE decides my new name will be.

"But now this is what Adonai says,
he who created you, Ya‘akov,
he who formed you, Isra’el:
“Don’t be afraid, for I have redeemed you;
I am calling you by your name; you are mine."

K.I.S.S. me

K.I.S.S. me with ...Kindness. Intimacy. Simplicity. Specially.

There is a plaque in our bedroom that reads: ALWAYS KISS ME GOODNIGHT... and every night my husband never forgets to give me a sweet kiss.  To me that goodnight kiss is more than physical pleasure.  It represents what our marriage relationship means to him.

It means KINDNESS.  His soft, genuine kiss comes from a love that is kind & considerate.  He considers me with kindness.

Of course, a kiss is INTIMATE, but true intimacy involves true knowing.  A definition I heard over 20 years ago was expressed like this: IN-TO-ME-SEE.  Our souls crave to be known & seen for who we are on a deeper, even spiritual level.

Because the goodnight kiss is one kiss, it is a SIMPLE kiss.  Our love & respect for each other is not complicated.  It is clear, true & filled with integrity.

Last, but not least, the kiss makes me feel adored & SPECIAL.  Every night I am reminded that I am my husband's special, one & only beloved!!

"Let him kiss me
with the kisses of his mouth-
For his love is better than wine.
My beloved is mine & I am his."
